How is Green Tea Produced
Green tea is the extract of the same plant, from where we get black tea. Green tea is made from specific leaves of Camellia Sinensis, which is a plant found in sub-tropical regions of the world. In the subtropical regions of the world, workers start to pluck out the tea shoots, when the leaves are still green and fresh. With a continuous cycle of plucking leaves after every 4-8 days. There are three particular seasons in which massive harvesting is carried out, like in the month of April, June, and September, tea leaves are gathered and sent to the industries for further processing that is drying.
In the industry, tea leaves are saturated and are prevented from undergoing any scientific process. That is why they are all dried and continuously stirred in the container for drying completely. Tea leaves are mostly exposed to flame in a large oven for drying, or sometimes with the help of electricity. And are ready for their next process that is shaping.
This process is carried out differently in different parts of the world. The dried green tea leaves are processed through the machinery or by hand-rolling technique. Both of the ways give the relevant result, but machines are very efficient in nowadays. After drying and rolling in the machine, they are pressurized to get rid of moisture. By the end of this process, the results are something like needle-structured dry leaves. Some of them are rolled by hand, ready to be packed. Now, after shaping, green tea is ready to move on to the last step that is processing.
The dried and perfectly shaped tea leaves are brought to various warehouses, where they are packed and treated as per the demands of different companies. Which includes, cutting, grinding, and adding flavor. Also, the quality assurance tests are carried out throughout the production, starting from harvesting to the processing
